YOGASOURCE 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program Dates:

March 9, 10 and 11, 2012; March 30, 31 and April 1; April 27, 28 and 29; May 25, 26 and 27; June 22, 23 and 24; July 20, 21 and 22; August 17, 18 and 19; September 7, 8 and 9; October 5, 6 and 7; November 2, 3 and 4

Yoga Students  -  Take the next step in your development with this in-depth, comprehensive 200-hour yoga teacher certification program. This course of study is appropriate for those already teaching or who aspire to teach, as well as for those who wish to deepen their practice. The training program will cover principles of hatha yoga, teaching techniques and methodology, along with the benefits, philosophy, and integration of yoga practice into daily life. Thirty hours of yoga-related anatomy and physiology are included. Successful completion of the program will qualify participants to register with the National Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level. This program is certified by the Yoga Alliance.

This is a program that meets for 10 weekend intensives over 9 months on Friday nights, Saturday days, and Sunday days. The program begins Friday, March 9, 2012, and completes Sunday, November 4, 2012.

Chris Yonker is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with Yoga Alliance. She took her first yoga class in 1971 and in 1992 she attended Kripalu Center’s Teacher Training Program. She has been teaching yoga since 1993 and was one of the founders of the Big Bend Yoga Center. She has studied extensively at Kripalu Center as well as Santa Barbara Yoga Center, White Lotus Foundation, and Integrative Yoga Therapy. In 2000 she studied Ashtanga Yoga in India and has studied with many master teachers. Currently she is enrolled in the Insight Yoga Institute with Sarah Powers as well as pursuing her 500 Hour Yoga Alliance Certification at Kripalu. She was a practicing massage therapist for 12 years and has been training yoga teachers since 2006.

Jen Jones, E-RYT, attended the YogaSource Teacher Training in 2007 and has been teaching ever since. She holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology and has completed a Mind, Body, Stress Reduction Program, 100 hours of massage school and two Yin Teacher Trainings. She is currently working her 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification in Asheville, North Carolina.

Emmet Schmelig, E-RYT, LMT, attended his first yoga class in 1992 after working as an educator. A lifetime of experience in athletics and interest in physical fitness coupled with his teaching skills brought him to the YogaSource Teacher Training in 2006. He has accumulated close to 4,000 hours of teaching, earned Yoga Alliance Experienced teacher status, has participated in many yoga workshops, and led several yoga workshops and two retreats. Emmet is also a Licensed Massage Therapist as was his grandfather. Emmet is certified through AFFA for personal fitness training and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Sat Inder Singh Khalsa’s journey into yoga began in 1999 at the Solar Yoga Center. In 2000, Sat Inder began the study of Kundalini yoga with a tape from Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and continued his study of this energy-moving yoga with local KRI-certified teacher, Nancy Lewis. He is inspired by his comprehensive background in Ashtanga and Anusara studies, his transformational experiences with Kundalini yoga, as well as studies with Shiva Rea and Saul David Raye. Through his unique style and sense of humor, Sat Inder Singh challenges his students to grow deeper in self awareness and physical practice.


Instructors and program are under the direction of Chris Yonker, E‑RYT.

The Core Faculty are certified by the National Yoga Alliance as E‑RYT™ (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and RYT™ (Registered Yoga Teacher).

Tuition: $1,900 if paid in full by February 9, 2012; $2,000 if paid by March 9, 2012. PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST. Registration requires a $500 non-refundable deposit upon acceptance into the program.
